Im glad I tried gold star . ..good service, fair prices, located right at a subway station so I hopped off the subway the restaurant is right at the Se entrance/exit of 219ST station...most of all was the taste was absolutely delicious....10/10 experience for me. ”

“ I live a block away from Gold Star, and I have to say: the food is really good. Everything I’ve ordered from here is good. If you go to the store, note that they have food in the back that you can’t see upfront (like Mac and cheese). I have had some trouble ordering from here, but nothing too bad. Any time I order via Uber Eats, they don’t begin preparing the food until I go to the store. With that said, if you live in the area, you know the level of service to expect. And the food is worth it. ”

“ Before I speak on the food, THE VIBE WAS EVERYTHING. The DJ was serving great tracks and really getting us in the mood for some dancing. Now, there wasn't any dancing happening but it's not because the music wasn't fire! DJ Dougie really did his thing here. Now the food, the selection seemed endless!! We ended up getting white rice, rice and peas, curry goat, oxtails, sweet and sour chicken, cabbage, mac and cheese, plantains, and one of each drink they serve. Everything. Was. Delicious. The serving sizes were generous. It fed us yesterday and today! The goat and oxtails were tender and so flavorful. The lemonade and the fruit punch had a twist, with some ginger. But the pink drink was sweet and tangy. 10/10 would recommend. The seating options are limited, but If you are able to snag on and enjoy the music with the food, it's all worth it!! ”
